Centurion Asset Management Inc., the asset manager of Centurion Apartment REIT, is pleased to announce that it has closed the acquisition of a purpose-built student housing property in Waterloo, Ontario. The acquisition brought Centurion's Waterloo portfolio to six properties and 1,506 rental units.

Located at 18 James Street North, adjacent to other The MARQ Waterloo buildings, this 9-storey property houses 30 fully furnished, five-bedroom units (totaling 150 beds), each with an ensuite bathroom. Every unit has air conditioning, a common living and dining area, and kitchen equipped with a fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, and double sink.

The building features keyless entry, underground and outdoor parking, laundry facilities, gym on the main floor, front patio seating, social lounge, and study rooms.

18 James Street is conveniently located minutes from Laurier University and University of Waterloo, making this an ideal location for students to call home! Students also have access to many restaurants, shops, and nightlife in uptown Waterloo via nearby bus routes located on King Street.

Centurion President and CEO Greg Romundt comments, “This new acquisition is a great opportunity to expand our student housing operations in Waterloo. Its proximity to our other Waterloo properties will support operational efficiencies and provide students more off-campus living options and join The MARQ’s vibrant student community.” (map)
